T Scan Bite Analysis
Dr. Gainor has adopted new technology, the T-Scan into his practice to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of his patients.
This technology allows for more accurate diagnosis and successful treatment planning. Traditional analysis methods for evaluating a patient’s bite required the use of articulating paper which could only show the end result of occlusal (bite) contact. Unable to record which contact hit first or measure their relative strength, these methods could not produce a comprehensive assessment.
Dr. Gainor uses the T-Scan, a state-of-the-art computerized bite analysis system. This handheld device allows the dentist to quickly and accurately determine how well balanced the bite is. Patients simply bite down on an ultra-thin sensor, and the device measures the timing and force of the bite on each tooth, sending the information to a computer that analyzes and displays the data in minutes.
With this 3-D analysis, Dr. Gainor can quickly and accurately determine where the problems are with your bite. T-Scan not only helps to diagnose where problem areas are but also helps patients to more clearly understand what is causing bite discomfort and how it can be fixed. The digital results can be used to monitor treatment progression and outcome and are also easily archived with the patient’s other digital dental records.
